Dr Kate Frances (Principal Consultant) and Ross Williams (Senior Aboriginal Research Consultant) recently presented together at the 2018 AES conference in Launceston about CIRCA’s evaluation of the 2018 Commonwealth Games Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). In a nationwide first for an international Australian event, a RAP was developed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Office of the Commonwealth Games commissioned CIRCA to carry out an evaluation of the RAP to explore its achievements and lessons learned to inform similar initiatives in the future. The presentation at the 2018 AES conference described the process CIRCA implemented to engage successfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders throughout the evaluation process and how this embodied the concepts central to RAPs (respect, relationships and opportunity).
